In July 2005 a Aussie named Ed Dale sold his little known websites for $5,000,000. Just recently I was listening to Ed Dale speak and he gave a simple explanation as to why some bloggers can be more accurate than journalists.
Are Bloggers more accurate than journalists all the time?
No
Are Journalists always non-bias?
Hell No.
But here’s why some bloggers will always be more accurate than journalists.
Bloggers are sometimes experts in their field. If you want to get expert information. Accurate information straight from the horses mouth, you can get it by reading the blog of an expert.
A lot of journalists don’t know much about the topics they write about. They consult ‘experts’ to find out what they need to know and that information from experts gets filtered through their own personal biases.
Often journalists have a particular slant that they’ll want to represent. When they want to pump a certain idea they’ll ring around the experts until finally they get an expert who confirms their idea and then they’ll quote it.
Of course even experts have their own biases.
But lets say that you wanted to invest in the share market.
Would you rather consult with three expert investors… or would you rather consult with three journalists who interviewed three expert investors?
